Tourist attractions

Anybody who visits the Tuchola Woods (Bory Tucholskie) is never not going to suffer from boredom, as the area is abundant with places offering interesting pastimes.
 

These include:
Woziwoda (www.woziwoda.pl) – the promotion centre for the Tuchola Woods, offering kayak rental facilities and educational trails featuring beauty spots that allow tourist to admire the most beautiful section of the Brda Gorge.

Fojutowo – offering recreation and catering facilities, including restaurant, BBQ, beer gardens, horse farm, kayak, bicycle and horse carriage rental, and a large playground for children (see the Gallery); 19th century aqueduct offering the possibility to walk under the running river.

– „The 5 km long „Nad Brdą” trail in Woziwoda featuring beauty spots offering views of the Brda Gorge.
– The „Deer Island” 3.5 km long trail in Gołąbek with 10 beauty spots and an observation tower
– A nature reserve of the so called “goat" floating islands between Legbąd and Woziwoda
– The Leon Wyczółkowski Reserve of Polish Ancient Yew Trees on the Czerska Struda river
– The hydrobiological educational trail in Suszek near Rytel
– The Dendrologic Park „Nad Stążką”

Tuchola is a charming town with narrow streets, a nice little market square decorated with flowers in the summer season and pavement cafes. The Tuchola Woods Museum shows artefacts that present the history and ethnography of the region. There are two historical churches worth visiting. In Tuchola there are numerous buildings which are showpieces of historical architecture.

The village of Rytel with the Mylof dam, an interesting part of the tourist trail running along a bank between the grand canal of the Brda and the Brda river itself, where it is possible to view the 20 m height difference in the levels of both watercourses.

The village of Odry featuring the mysterious Gothic stone circles dating back to 1st century A.D., which are said to have a beneficial influence on human energy.

Canoeing tours take 1, 2, 4, 6, 12 hours or 1-3 days, in each case the tour organiser guarantees the return to the starting point.

It is also possible to relax on 11 bathing beaches on the lakes (the nearest of them is located ca. 2 km away), to go fishing (a fishing licence may be purchased from the local village leader), or to have a horse carriage trip straight from Końskie Błota.
